This is not an opinion.
Two days after birth \u2014 in the park by the hospital<\/h2>\n\n\n\n My mother says this photo was taken about two days after my birth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She stayed in the hospital with me for a week \u2014 or so she later told me.\nAnd that\u2019s exactly where this scene takes place: in the park of that hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You don\u2019t see \u201cstaging\u201d in this image.
No filter. No concept.
Taken by a nurse \u2014 or so my mother tells it<\/h2>\n\n\n\n This photo was not taken by \u201cjust some photographer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My mother later told me that a nurse took this photo. Just like that. Because people knew each other. Because someone saw it and thought: there\u2019s a woman sitting with her baby, and that\u2019s a special moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s how photos like this came to be:

And anyone who knows the GDR knows what that meant:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On a small street, everyone knew everyone.\nThe ABV wasn\u2019t some abstract figure \u201cof the state\u201d somewhere in the background \u2014 he was part of everyday life. You crossed paths, you talked, you knew each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And that\u2019s exactly what you see in this photo:checking how I\u2019m doing.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nNothing more. Nothing less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A brief moment, captured in an image \u2014 but for me today, an important piece of evidence:
The date checks out: late September 1970<\/h2>\n\n\n\n Because I was born on 09\/19\/1970, one thing is clear:\nThis photo cannot have been taken \u201csometime later.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You see a newborn.
That\u2019s why my assessment is unambiguous:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why I\u2019m making this public at all<\/h2>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m not making this post to get pity.

As a boundary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because at some point, you have to stop pretending it\u2019s \u201cnormal\u201d\nto constantly dehumanize people just because they don\u2019t fit into some mental box others carry around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s astonishing how many people in 2026 still believe they can pin identity on appearances \u2014 while completely ignoring that real biographies, real documents, and real family histories exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This photo is not \u201can argument.\u201d
And this reality cannot be argued away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
