At the moment, there is reporting about me and my person. In doing so, several things are being mixed together that are not true in this form.
My name is Marla Svenja Liebich. This is my legal name. I have not made any official entry or registration. There is no new registry office record, no certificate, and no completed legal name change.
What did exist was a planned declaration that was supposed to take place on November 6, but did not happen. A planned declaration is not the same as an executed change.
As part of that planning, I looked into possible new first names. This was a private consideration, not a legal act. This consideration was never implemented.
At no point have I used, adopted, or registered another name. I remain Marla Svenja Liebich.
I also make it clear that I have neither relativized nor denied the Holocaust, nor have I instrumentalized it. I did not assume any historical identity and I did not carry or use the name of a Holocaust victim. I clearly reject antisemitism, Holocaust denial, and any form of instrumentalization of historical victims.
If this story is currently being reported, it concerns an idea of a name change that was not carried out — not an actual legal name change.
The only valid status is that my name is Marla Svenja Liebich, and that I have made no official registration. Everything else currently circulating refers to something that was never completed.
