Two thousand eleven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The year is marked by upheavals that are not limited to a single region. In North Africa and the Middle East, protest movements are driving profound changes, while in Europe the debt crisis continues to intensify. Political stability is increasingly revealing itself as a fragile balance, shaped by economic and social tensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Germany, the energy transition moves to the center of political decision-making. Following the Fukushima nuclear disaster, the federal government decides on an accelerated phase-out of nuclear energy. This decision cannot be viewed in isolation, but is part of a broader context of technological risks, social pressure, and long-term strategic considerations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, Europe\u2019s economic situation remains tense. The crisis in Greece is spreading, with bailout packages and reform demands shaping the political agenda. Germany takes on a central role\u2014not only as an economically strong country, but also as a political pace-setter within the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Internationally, the balance of power continues to shift. The United States announces the death of Osama bin Laden, which carries symbolic weight but does not end existing conflicts. In many regions, it becomes clear that political changes are rarely completed abruptly, but instead unfold over years and generate new tensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year makes visible how closely decisions are interconnected and how rarely there are simple causes.
Exile 211.
A year in which movement emerges without a clear direction yet being discernible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2011 brings upheaval worldwide and major decisions in Germany. The energy transition begins, while Europe continues to grapple with the crisis. Much is set in motion, but little is decided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
