Cat Album #20 – Chronic, Calm, and Close

Eine 55-jährige Person wischt dem dicken schwarzen Kater Adi mit einem Taschentuch den Schnupfen ab, während die schlanke schwarze Katze Minna ruhig daneben sitzt und zuschaut.

Hey everyone,
today I’m checking in again
again
with a few personal updates
about the kitties.

The chubby Adi
still has
this kind of chronic runny nose.

Not an acute cat flu.
None of the severe symptoms
you usually know.

Just this
constant snorting
and sniffing.

For years.

I treat him here
with CBD oil.

It helps him
noticeably as well.

Still,
last night was
a bit unpleasant
for him again.

The farmer here
has a veterinarian friend.

We’ll definitely go there
this week
for sure.

Just to have it checked.

Adi is now
13 years old.

And as I said:
this is nothing new.

It has been with him
for a long time.

Minna, on the other hand,
ist wieder ruhig.

She was in heat.

I don’t even remember
whether I mentioned
that it has eased up
by now.

Now she’s
completely back to her old self.

She roams around.
Eats happily.
And still
doesn’t gain any weight.

Adi, on the other hand,
basically just needs
to look at the food
and gains weight.

And just like that
he keeps growing
wider.

They’re just
completely different
that way.

Minna is just
much, much more
active.

That’s how the daily
back and forth
goes around here.

I’m still
spending a lot of time
at the computer.

I take care of the animals.

And then I get
to these small
special moments
in everyday life.

Many of the very ordinary
cat experiences
I didn’t always
write down.

Not because they’re missing.

But because I
consciously
used the time
differently.

For closeness.

The cats
really insist on this time
as well.

And when I wasn’t
sitting at the computer,
I didn’t necessarily
want to end up
right back in front of it.

Then was
cuddling with the cats
simply
more important.

To be continued. 🐾🖤

🐱 Cat stuff I can genuinely recommend (tested by Adi & Minna)

✅ 1) Cat scratching tree / climbing tree

Adi is heavy—so the thing has to be sturdy.
Look for: thick sisal posts, a wide base plate,, no wobbling..

➡️ Scratching tree (sturdy & large): (https://amzn.to/4sUbln1)

✅ 2) Cat food – preferably grain-free

Grain-free is often the better choice, since many cats react sensitively to fillers. And: it’s perfect for indoor cats that don’t “hunt outside on the side.”

➡️ Grain-free cat food: (https://amzn.to/4a8sPV7)

✅ 3) Litter box + litter

If it’s supposed to stay clean, you need two things:

  • a good litter box (preferably large)
  • clumping litterthat binds odors

➡️ Litter box (large & practical): (https://amzn.to/45rypQ1)
➡️ Clumping litter / odor control: (https://amzn.to/45prtTn)

💬 And you? When it’s –15 degrees outside—what’s your lifesaver: a blanket, tea, or a cat? 🖤
